Universal’s Epic Universe is finally here—and it’s every bit as epic as the name suggests. With immersive lands, thrilling rides, and that signature Universal energy, this new park is a must-visit for theme park lovers.

Staying On-Site: Terra Luna Hotel Review

One of the biggest perks of staying at a Universal hotel is early park entry—a huge advantage when you want to hit popular rides before the crowds. Plus, complimentary shuttle buses to the parks and CityWalk make getting around seamless.

I stayed at the new Terra Luna Hotel, a modern, mid-range option with a clean and fresh aesthetic. The rooms were well-appointed with comfortable beds, a hairdryer, ironing board, coffee maker, and other essentials. I did find the wardrobe space a bit limited, but for a theme park trip, it worked fine.

The pool area was a highlight—spacious, with plenty of sun loungers and a well-stocked bar offering great drinks. The dining area leaned more canteen-style, which wasn’t quite my vibe, but it did offer a wide variety of food options, so there’s something for everyone. Bonus: there’s an on-site Universal gift outlet, perfect for grabbing souvenirs without braving the park crowds.

Epic Universe: Park Areas & Rides

The park is split into uniquely themed areas, each feeling like its own self-contained world. I highly recommend buying an Express Pass—it saved me from long queues and let me experience more of the park in less time.

One important tip: get breakfast before you go. I found the early morning options in the park quite limited, so fueling up beforehand is a smart move.

Though the much-anticipated Ministry of Magic ride was closed during my visit, I could still explore the themed area—and it’s stunning. Walking through it felt like stepping straight into the wizarding world.

Epic Universe Rides: A Quick Look at the Thrills

Epic Universe is packed with a mix of cutting-edge coasters, immersive dark rides, and family-friendly attractions. Here’s a quick rundown of some of the must-experience rides across the park’s lands:

1. How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk

A whimsical, family-friendly area filled with Viking vibes and fire-breathing fun.

  • Hiccup’s Wing Gliders: A suspended roller coaster that lets you “fly” on the back of a dragon—smooth and scenic, great for most ages.
  • Fyre Drill: A splash battle ride where kids (and adults!) can soak their friends and cool off.

2. Celestial Park

This is the gateway area, filled with lush gardens and cosmic wonders.

  • Stardust Racers: A dual-launch coaster with inversions, airtime, and great views—this one’s for the thrill seekers.
  • Constellation Carousel: A beautifully designed carousel with a celestial theme—great for families and Instagram-worthy.

3. Dark Universe (Universal Monsters)

A gothic, eerie land for horror fans and dark ride lovers.

  • Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment: A dark ride that pits you face-to-face with Universal’s classic monsters in a chaotic escape scenario—intense and incredibly immersive.

4. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic

Set in Paris and centered around the French Ministry of Magic.

  • The main ride was closed during my visit, but you can still explore the area, which is packed with magical details and themed shops. It looks incredible—like walking into the films.

5. Super Nintendo World

Gamers, this is your playground.

  • Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge: An interactive AR dark ride where you race through iconic tracks—fast-paced and super fun.
  • Yoshi’s Adventure: A slower-paced ride great for younger visitors, offering a scenic view of the land.

For those looking to splurge, the Helios Grand Hotel, located within the park itself, offers ultra-luxury and unbeatable proximity. If budget allows, it’s worth considering for the ultimate immersive stay.

Final Thoughts

Epic Universe is a phenomenal addition to Universal Orlando. With stunning new lands, immersive design, and that signature adrenaline-pumping ride lineup, it’s a destination worth the hype. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker, a fantasy lover, or just in it for the churros, there’s something here for you.

Until next time—see you in the multiverse!
