Whenever I stay at a hotel, I always wonder what the other rooms are like. I think most people would like a nosey round the executive suite or even the penthouse suite. So, I decided to be your cottage tour guide today 🙂

While I was staying at Bluewaters in Antigua, Kevin, the General Manager, kindly gave me a guided tour of Rock Cottage. It was used for a photoshoot for a bridal magazine — what a fantastic backdrop. I used to be on the beach and look up at the villa, thinking what an amazing villa I didn’t realise it was a part of the hotel. The cottage sleeps up to 10 people and includes five bedrooms, 4 King and 1 Queen sized bed and five bathrooms, respectively.

The significant addition to this luxurious villa is that you can access all of the resort’s water sports, pools, tennis courts and restaurants. The place is beautiful. It looks like your little piece of heaven you wouldn’t want to leave. It’s tucked away on a cliff with the most amazing views overlooking Soldiers Bay. It has an open plan with outdoor and indoor living spaces. The living room and dining room have a beautiful view of the sea, which is quite mesmerising.

You could take a walk to the breakfast area because seeing the staff who work at Blue Waters does put a smile on your face every morning. They are some of the friendliest I have come across.

After breakfast, you are back to your little piece of paradise. It has a very open plan with outdoor and indoor living spaces. The interior is a crisp beach decor with some modern elements. The living and dining rooms look out to the sea, and the view is just mesmerising. Get the doors open and let the breeze come through!

The sun deck is stunning. I could see myself practising diving skills into the ocean; ok, that’s a dream because I can’t dive.

Ok, I will stick to watching the sunset with my G&T in hand with no care in the world – this would be after midday; of course, I have just eaten breakfast. Who’s going to judge me? There is only me in this villa. I don’t have neighbours; I can do what I want when I want.

That’s the good thing about seclusion, and you really can do your own thing. You have the option of the central hotel if your friends or family get on your nerves. You certainly wouldn’t feel yourself in each other’s pockets. That’s for sure. You have two bedrooms in the main villa while the remaining three are in the guest house.

Also, there is a kitchen and BBQ, but I don’t think you will be cooking, do you? Did I mention the infinity pool and the outdoor bathing areas?

I love looking around hotels, and you never know, one day I may stay here in Rock cottage, looking at the sunrise and whistling what a wonderful life song. Thank you very much to Blue Waters Hotel Antigua for allowing me to look around this splendid cottage on the cliff.

P. S. I like luxury, but this is something else. My idea of a dream.
